Title: Dealing with Accelerating Change in Engineering and Business I will talk about key success factors I have witnessed over the last 40 years and lessons I believe may help over the next 40 years. Lance Hunter is the Chief Executive Officer of Hodges Warehouse & Logistics (Hodges), a Central Alabama warehouse and trucking company. Hodges supports auto suppliers of Hyundai, KIA, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes and BMW in the Southeastern United States. Hodges also provides warehouse and trucking for the Central Alabama region¡¯s paper, agricultural and food industries. The company is also heavily involved in all aspects of the region¡¯s industrial real estate market, investing and leasing industrial buildings and acting as agents for investors and tenants. Lance currently serves on the board of Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill Industries, is President of the Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts and is a member of the Montgomery Area Committee of 100. Hodges was the proud recipient of the Frank Plummer Memorial Arts Award in 2013 and the 2006 Small Business in the Arts Award. Lance is active in supporting Chinese and Korean cultural, education and business development in the region. Lance has worked with Hodges for 20 years. Prior to that he led subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. and was a senior executive of the mutual fund division of Raymond James and Associates. Prior to that Lance was a CPA for Ernst and Ernst CPA¡¯s (now Ernst and Young) and Chief Financial Officer of PGA National Resort and Spa. Lance has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a bachelor¡¯s degree in accounting from the University of Florida. He is originally from Jacksonville, Fl. His wife, Daoluan Han, is a native of the Peoples Republic of China. They live on a small farm near Eclectic, Alabama.
