Dr. Wang is Professor of Mathematics at
Auburn University Montgomery (AUM).
He joined the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, AUM in August
2006. Yi received his second Ph.D. in
mathematics from West Virginia University, USA in 2003, and his first Ph.D. in
mechanical engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China in 1997.
Dr. Wang was born in Qionglai, a suburb city
of Chengdu, Sichuan Province of China. He grew up in a family of
teachers with a younger brother and younger twin sisters. His father, a teacher of
physics, retired from Qionglai GaoGen High School; his mother, a teacher of Chinese, retired from the same high school. His grandma was an
elementary school teacher. Dr. Wang's early academic development was deeply
influenced by his grandma.
Yi is married to Qun Zheng, from Qionglai
too, with a lovely daughter Meili.
Meili plays Guitar and wants to be famous.
Yi likes swimming, tennis, pingpong, and bandminton. Yi
also likes fishing.
